For beginning students, I typically start with the Alfred or Mel Bay Method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce other repertoire where appropriate. For students who have some experience, I will try to find out what the student is interested in, and direct my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging. Books I use for teaching Piano is the Piano Adventures series of books by Nancy and Randall Faber, which is a great lesson book and a good basic piano method for beginners through intermediate level students. For guitar I use the Hal Leonard Incredible Chord Finder and the Warren Nunes Jazz guitar Rhythm and Background Chords and the Solo Patterns book. Also For both Piano and Guitar I have accumulated many charts and Berklee School of Music pages to use as students start to progress. Read More
