2009 Recreated Beatles Rooftop Concert in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale for 102.7 FM with Joe Johnson and Mindy Lang from 102.7 fm.
2011 Played Concert for Brain Cancer at the Jackie Gleason Theatre with the University of Miami Orchestra.
Since 2007, I have been performing with South Florida's Premier Beatles Tribute Show. We have been lucky to play for many radio stations as well as performing with many todays top performing musicians, such as The Beach Boys, Gloria Gaynor, The Osmond Brothers to name a few. I was permantly injured in an auto accident at the end of 2008 and since then I have been perfomring a few shows a year out of love of the music. Since then I have been Teaching Guitar in the Elementary School system, at students homes, as well as in my own studio at home. I have found a new passion for life while teaching and this has given me a new drive to share my love of music and teaching guitar. I thought that my perfomring with my Beatles Band was a driving force in my life, but i was wrong. After completing my first year in classroom Guitar instruction, It was the teaching that was drving my love for music. I thank god each day for allowing me to keep my talent and to share it with everyone.
My whole life I have played piano and later guitar until college. It ws a few years after i was married that i picked up guitar and with the help of a truly awesome teacher that my fever for playing returned. My teacher taught me many styles and always made sure that I progressed consistantly. It is with that love and childlike drive that I learned from my teacher, that I carry on with today. I show up with that same drive each lesson to carry on that magic.
I have been teaching children of late, so I start with basic skills of holding the instrument and learning about the instrument and the strings notes. I usually use one of Hal Leonard books for a true reference point of fundementals. After that I begin to learn what music the student is intersted in and guitde my instruction accordingly and of course to maintain that level of fun in each lesson.
while it is important for each student to progress at their own pace, It is important to set realistic goals. By trying to find out what inspires the student, i can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
