I would start my lesson with an in depth description of the guitar itself and how to tune and then enter the notes and with foot tapping rhythms. I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I like to start my beginning students out with the Mel Bay book #1 through #7. However thats those books focus on some theory, mostly just and intro to reading notes on the staff.
