I had an opportunity to start teaching early as a student leader in my high school music program and continuing into college. I've found that my students have a much higher level of success when they are encouraged to practice regularly at home. I use classical repertoire to build techniques across styles and modern music to keep students engaged. If they aren't enjoying themselves, I'm not doing something correctly. He has sung with Washington National Opera, Washington Bach Consort, and Handel and Haydn Society and performed over 30 roles in opera/musical theater. He is also a singer/songwriter. I began teaching in the music performance/ production field in 2010, while away at Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland. I started teaching production to middle school students first, using my laptop, audio interface, and midi keyboard. What surprised me the most was that the students wanted to play the keyboard more than record their voices, so with that being the case, my journey as a piano teacher began.
