I began teaching music while I was in college. Although I was not an education major, I did take education classes and learned a lot about pedagogy during my time in college. I have experience teaching beginning percussion-intermediate percussion on mallet instruments, snare drum, timpani, drum set, and orchestral percussion. I have taught music theory/piano to many students over the years. We are all different. Each student has their own pace of learning. So, I encourage this with setting up realistic goals for each student. Every lesson, I write memos about assignemnts, and student's progress compare to previous lesson/week. Therefore, students and parents will receive "Progress Results" in every four lessons. I do my best to make private lessons fun as well as productive. I utilize the blue Rubank books for students of all levels. No matter how developed a student may be there is always something of value in these books. After my graduation, my husband and I settled in Xenia. I am now a full-time mom to two wonderful children, and have been with Musika since November 2012.
