For beginning students for playing the flute I would teach them about the horn, how to put it together, and the best way to blow into the mouthpiece with correct air support. What you learn from the start you tend to always carry with you, so it is best to learn correctly from the beginning. I have been involved in music my entire life, starting in a percussion group and choir in elementary school. I started on the clarinet at the beginning of middle school. I taught myself how to play the clarinet amongst the other instruments I play with the help and guidance of college professors, band directors, and tricks I noticed along the way.
