I set realistic goals for my students each lesson and from there we add another goal to add to the last goal. My teaching experience began during my college years, when I started giving private lessons and discovered how much I loved helping students grow as musicians. Since then, Ive consistently taught students of all ages in both private and group settings, guiding them in vocal, instrumental, and piano studies. My teaching style includes positive reinforcement, making and achieving small measurable goals that lead to big measurable goals, and teaching and instilling correct daily practice methods. I encourage each student to do their best each day and push through the difficult places. When something is too difficult for a student, I break it down into smaller, more understandable pieces, or change tactics to a different subject or piece. I myself am a music student on my way to study at University of Alabama for a Bachelor's in Music Education. I have been privately instructing students of all ages for a full three years, starting when I was fifteen. I never turn down an opportunity to perform, and have played in multiple orchestras, symphonic bands, jazz bands, and marching bands. I spent two of my years in a marching band as the drum major, and continue as the principle clarinet player in both my home orchestra and symphonic band. Read More
