I had been teaching piano since high school, after which I chose to study music at a conservatory. I have been teaching consistently since my graduation and have had varied experiences. I have taught students from four years to adulthood, at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I always aim to bring out the best in every student. It is always very important to me, to listen to the student and observe their learning styles, in the initial classes. Read More

Learning a musical instrument should always be a very rewarding and satisfying experience. Therefore, I have a large variety of techniques in my musical bag of tricks to challenge all types of learners. These include practice rewards, Band Olympics, ninja karate belts, and Harry Potter themed games. Read More

I began teaching music lessons at the end of my studies at university. What began as a few saxophone students has grown, making private lessons an integral part of my work and affording me the chance to share my love of music on several other instruments including clarinet, flute, and piano. I regularly teach lessons at student's homes or in my home-studio. I also work as a studio teacher at Mark Murphy's Music, a private music school in the metro area. Read More
Instruments: Flute, Recorder, Piccolo
If students are very young and have not learned to read music, I work on ear training and listening to music and practicing rhythms before learning to read music. When teaching older students and adults, I feel it is helpful for me to find out what kinds of music they enjoy listening to, so that they can learn these pieces on their instrument. We also play duets together when the student becomes more advanced. Read More
