Hello! I just graduated from my masters degree from Ohio University in Clarinet Performance and earned my bachelor from Western Kentucky University in Music/Spanish. I started teaching band camp after my first year of college have not stopped, soon after that I started giving private lessons to clarinetist in the western Ky area and I realize that I loved it. Between WKU and Ohio University I have being a member and have played principal in many of these groups: Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band and Pep Band, Clarinet Choir and Chamber Music and Opera. While I do not have much experience teaching music, I've been playing for over a decade, participating in both concert and marching ensembles, as well as Murray State's flute ensemble for several years. I also have plenty of experience working with children, both in my time working in daycares, primarily with ages 6 months through age 5, as well as volunteering helping with the children's choir at the church I grew up in and have attended my entire life. Because music and the flute is a constant art of improving, I find it beneficial to record students so they can hear themselves as others do. Having recordings of a student also allows them to remember where they started and where they have grown to. I find that positive reinforcement of all elements of flute playing are essential.
