After graduating I began teaching lessons. Over the past 7 years I have taught students of all ages and ability levels. I customize all of my lessons to the needs of my students. If students have a particular interest I do my utmost to incorporate it into their lessons. I first started music at a young age through my local church; my first instrument being flute. I studied flute for many years before taking formal voice lessons. This led me to become a voice performance major at the Manhattan School of Music, where I sang lead roles in and outside of the school. In addition, I continued my flute studies as well as strengthen my piano skills. For any level of flute students I use the Rubank Method books. These books come in varying levels. I would assess what the student plays and knows and then figure out which book would best fit the student's abilities. As the student progresses, I will begin to search for supplemental books or repertoire based on the student's interests. In school, I like to mix it up with a variety of genres and styles to try to teach the students a better appreciation for a variety of music. I am a current student at Ball State University studying to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Instrumental/General Music Education with an add-on in Vocal Education.
