For beginning students who are children, I typically use Blocki method or another outstanding flute teachers methodic. Usually, kids can't concentrate on something more than fifteen or twenty minutes, so I usually try to find different types of games or interesting stories about flutes, notes, etc. Also, they love to play songs from their favorite cartoons or movies. I grew up in Georgia fully embracing my band nerd. I started playing the saxophone in middle school and took weekly lessons. This led me to go on to college to study music. In 1999, I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with piano as my major instrument. I began performing by singing in church as a child. I've participated musically in church worship services throughout my life soloing and accompanying choirs on flute and piano.
