I began teaching flute lessons when I was a senior in high school. Though these lessons were not true lessons, they helped me grow into the teacher that I now am today. I began to realize my love for teaching music when I would volunteer to assist my band director with the younger students. Once I got into college, I taught woodwind lessons to local students near my college. I also assisted my colleagues on the woodwind instruments. --Since I graduated from Morehead State University in 2014, I began my career as a elementary music teacher in Oklahoma. Read More
Instruments: Flute, Clarinet
I tailor my lessons to meet each student's individual needs. I work to balance the time between challenging exercises they may struggle with, and fun playing they can enjoy and excel at. I frequently discuss goals with students, such as "we will work towards being about to play 8 measures without taking a breath" or "within two months we will be able to comfortably play up to high-C." I frequently remind them how much they should be practicing, and we always check in each lesson to see how we are progressing towards our goals. Read More

I been playing the piano since age 3 (over 40 years ago!). Since getting certified, I can play and teach all instruments, with piano being my primary instrument. I encourage regular practice and strive tocoordinate the students' schedule along with musical success. Parental involvement is essential. As little as reminding the student to practice daily! I look forward to meeting new students of all ages!! Read More

I began teaching private students while in college through a music store in Ellicott City, MD. I taught students from age 6 to 15. I had up to 15 students on varied occasions. I maintained students on and off throughout my 7 years of music teaching in public schools following graduating from college, but lost many students when I relocated from Baltimore to Lancaster. I am hoping to network and develop a studio of students again. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet
I like to see what the student is currently working on, interested in, or what the school district encourages. I am open to student / parent wishes; I understand that while some student goals are to find a career with music, there are many who are looking to grow within a hobby! There are several method books I prefer for different reasons, so I will do my best after some discussion to find an appropriate fit for the student. If there is an adult learner looking to start, I'd do the same. Read More
