I strongly believe that students should be corrected and made aware of their mistakes when learning music or a new instrument, but I also believe that these corrections and criticisms can be delivered in ways that push students to better themselves, rather than make them doubt their abilities as a musician. I am a passionate and motivated music educator who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I graduated from Kentucky State University in 1980 with a BS Degree in Music Education. I have performed all over the world with some of the worlds greatest musicians, including Sunny Stitts, Donnie McClurkin, The Temptations, Lou Rawls, Midnight Star to name a few. I have led church orchestras and played various instruments in the church as well and also have sung solo works and participated in church choirs. My teaching experience dates back to my college days as I would frequently conduct flute sectionals for local middle schools.  I began teaching flute privately in 2008 after completing my Master of Music Degree.  I currently work with students and band programs in several counties in the metropolitan Atlanta area.  My students have been selected for both District Honor and All-State Band, as well as earned places at the University of Georgia middle and high school band clinics, received college scholarships, earned superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble festival, and often occupy the principal chair in their high school band programs.
