I began teaching in my sophomore year of college at the age of 19. I started by giving thirty minute to one hour lessons to local students. I soon began leading masterclasses for the flute students of the local middle and high schools. Most recently, I taught a masterclass to a large group (30-40) of high school flute students. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I have led church orchestras and played various instruments in the church as well and also have sung solo works and participated in church choirs. I am extremely passionate about all things music. I have been playing the flute and piano for 15 years. I graduated from Mercer University in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. I have performed at many musical conventions during my career, including the National Flute Association Convention in 2013 and 2015. I was also recently selected to perform in the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir at the 2016 annual convention.
