I am enthusiastic about teaching others both how to play and understand the art of music. In 2009 I graduated from North Central University where I truly fell in live with music and gained a passion for learning and performing through both my education and the rich Fine Arts culture in the city of Minneapolis where I studied. Since graduating, performing professionally has been a wonderful experience and tantamount to my ongoing growth as a musician. Read More

I always approach teaching on an individual basis. I find out what the student loves about music, and what made him or her want to learn in the first place. We set realistic goals for pace and have fun. I often mix traditional work with fun work. I started teaching music about 10 years ago, and Ive always enjoyed working with students. Ive performed professionally in several bands on multiple instruments in the past 10 years, and Ive also done a good bit of studio work from composition and recording, to producing, to mastering. I emphasize practice, having fun, and learning useful skills as the keys to success in music lessons. I do believe a good combination of modern music, classical music, and music theory is the best way to become a well-rounded musician and maximize enjoyment! Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop proper, advanced drumming technique, appreciating the complex mathematical pattern filled art form that is drumming. Advanced Technical Drumming is my strongest passion, and I love passing my skills to others. My favorite way of teaching is a dual-player setup, on a simple practice pad. This setup allows both the student and the teacher to practice in essentially any environment, and basic drum rudiments are ESSENTIAL to learn before transferring to any drum set, snare drum, etc. Read More

Very few musicians are virtuosos and can pick up an instrument day one! I require metronome skill practice...you are expected to have excellent meter as a Percussionist! For beginners, I'll want to teach basic music reading and rudiments on the snare drum along with Metronome. Did mention you'll need to PRACTICE...with the metronome:-) Experienced and Advanced students will tell me what they want to be taught. We will then develop a plan to challenge your skills. Read More
