Music is fun. The only reason to start learning an instrument is so you can have fun while learning, because you never stop learning. While I have certain processes while teaching, lessons will be tailored to the student. We will make sure to take note of progress so the student can see where they were when they started compared to what they can do now. I believe in a student learning to hear music and think for themselves. Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it. I prefer to build the foundation of knowledge on how and why something works. I usually begin with some basic theory and then show various techniques from popular works and how this can be applied to original compositions.
