The advanced that can already hold a steady beat, I like to develop runs and fills on the drums. I can take them into a deeper understanding of how fills can take a song to the next level. I am a dedicated music teacher based in southern California who loves spreading my love for music with other students.  I graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance with an outside area study of jazz improvisation.  I've been fortunate enough to tour the country including a performance in Carnegie Hall in New York city.  I currently play and write music with multiple groups as a percussionist, drummer, vibraphonist, and steel drummer in the Indianapolis area. I started playing guitar at age 8. In my formative years I studied with various instructors around central Indianapolis until mid year of '85. Upon this time I studied a full year with James Lee Thorpe whom eventually played, toured recorded with Sweet F.A. They released albums with MCA Chrysalis Records. I am a passionate Christian and motivated drum instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. Since 2007 I've been apart of The Salvation Army Indiana Divisional Band. Since 2011 I have the pleasure of working as a freelance drummer. I also had the joy of working as a drum teacher at Cornerstone Center for the Arts (Muncie, IN). One of the greater experiences of my life as a musician was having the opportunity of playing with The Salvation Army USA/International Band in 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena California.
