I have a few different methods depending on a students interests.  A majority of my current students study concert and/or marching percussion with me. With either of these styles, I like to start by developing their sense of timing, reading, and technique. For this, I use a combination of the Mitchell Peters books in addition to packets that I've developed over the past 10 years. My teaching expierience dates back to my college days, I began teaching private lessons part time about 8 years ago in addition to that I also volunteer my time every summer teaching children at my church camp The Salvation Army Camp and Conference Center located in Bedford, IN. I have consistently been teaching students in my studio at my home church for the last 2 years. I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I then received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied saxophone performance as well as piano, songwriting, and audio production.
