I received my Bachelor's in Music Education from West Texas AM University in 2015 and my Masters in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University in 2017. Throughout school, I was fortunate to have had opportunities to perform with various ensembles at the statewide and national levels. These experiences I was able to bring to hone my own skills to perform and teach at a high level. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I revealed great promise as a musician at an early age. Moving to New York in 1983, I became the first African American piano player to play for the Tony Award-winning production of “CATS” at the tender age of 16-years old. After a critically acclaimed 3-year run on Broadway, I returned to Houston and shortly thereafter earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Texas Southern University in Houston, the same prestigious program that produced Kirk Whalum, Yolanda Adams and Lonnie Smith. Apart from being the drummer for Seek Irony, I worked as a professional session drummer for ten years before moving to the US about a year and a half ago. I used to play drums for half of the music industry in Israel. So far, I’ve recorded drums on over fifty records and performed over a thousand shows in my drumming career.Right before moving to the US, I was asked to record drums for a special musical project on a song that involved Israel and China’s top singers and was meant to celebrate a twenty-year anniversary of diplomacy between the two countries.
