Instruments: Saxophone, Clarinet, Recorder

I moved primarily because I had an opportunity to reside in an upcoming city and develop a music studio/performance space in the heart of this up and coming city. We enjoy having the fastest internet in the country and am also developing an online studio using modern video conferencing software. Even though I primarily enjoy teaching students in the same room, where I can evaluate breath support, sound production and technique in a better way than relying on audio compression over the world wide web. First, I believe it is important all students have a firm grasp on the fundamentals of the instrument, which may include some scale exercises, for example. I tend to start beginning students with the Hal Leonard Essential Elements books, but if I find that the student either has previous experience or else progresses much faster than normal, I will move them to the Rubank Blue Book instead. When I am first beginning, I will work a student through the scales until they have played them through correctly. Read More

I have seen my students achieve success at all levels, from being a beginner to winning a college scholarship to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music! I have taught pre-K through adult instrumental and vocal music. I have taught Jr. High and High School Band. I presently am teaching in Gibson County as a part time public school music teacher since I retired from full time service over 2 years ago. (I just couldn't stay away from it!) Since I started there, I have also been hired by the high school band to be one of their brass instructors. Read More

Instruments: Clarinet, Drums, Mallet Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, Music

Every student I teach privately gets their own individualized lesson plans. Whether you are an audio, visual, or kinesthetic learner, I will adapt to your needs the best that I can. For beginning students, in percussion I usually start with Standard of Excellence and in drum-set I write my own beginning parts focused on the fundamentals. As the students skill level progresses I get them on books such as The Drummers Bible, Stick Control, Developing Dexterity, and solo works. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
