While at college and a few years after graduating I taught private music lessons maintaining a weekly student load of 10 -15. For beginners we will take it slow but hard work is always needed. I can teach you everything that I know,but it’s up to the student to take in what’s going on and work hard to get down fundamentals . Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. One of things I that I find discouraging is when teachers stick with one method. Every student is different! As a result, my method of teaching very much depends on the student. If I have a student who is struggling with fundamentals, then we will focus on fundamentals. If I have a student who is struggling with articulations, then we will focus on articulations in lessons.
