My love for teaching started around my sophomore year of high school. I used to be in marching band and I would always offer to help the people in my section with the music and find easier ways to play certain passages. Personally, I think one of the most important parts of teaching music is to give students a complete grasp of performing music by combining theory into their lesson plan to make a well-rounded musician. I like to create a combination of my own supplementary material, along with what the students are preparing for classes or outside engagements. I believe in a very strong fundamental background and have created a set of exercises geared to maximize effectiveness, and guarantee progress. Excellence in preparation leads to excellence in performance, and a focus on fundamentals builds the skillset and the confidence to achieve.
