I am and have been a passionate musical person. The moment I went into 6th grade and got the clarinet as my instrument, that was all I could focus on, and here we are. I am on my last year of my undergrad music education degree, at Texas AM University Kingsville. Teaching is something I am very passionate about. It all started when I took my first drum lesson in the 4th grade. From then on, I wanted to play whenever I could. I played in all my school bands from middle school to high school. Graduated Southern University, home of the world famous "Human Jukebox" which I was a member of for 3 years, as well as playing for my church since I was 13. Along the way I have had the honor of meeting and learning from respected musicians such as Lawrence Jackson (former director of SU Bands), Herman Jackson (Brother of Randy Jackson), Jerry Lee Lane (Marching percussion pioneer) and countless others. I set realistic goals for each student, and I encourage each student to practice to meet their goals each week. I also make myself available to all students at anytime for questions during their practice. I have a system of teaching jazz improvisation that ensures that every student can play and read changes.
