I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher. My first teaching experience was my junior year of high school where I got up every Friday morning before school to teach a 6th grade clarinetist who needed some extra instruction as she was blind. It was a sort of "aha" moment in my life where I found out that a career in music education was meant for me. William joined Musika in 2009. William is a retired college professor who taught woodwinds at the college level for over 25 years. He is an accomplished recitalist on both clarinet and saxophone. He earned the Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Akron and the Ph.D. in musicology from Kent State University. He has performed at meetings of the International Clarinet Society and is a past editor of reviews for the organization's journal. Read More

I have calm but firm teaching style, allowing students to progress at their own pace, but not afraid to push them when they need to. I always make sure they completely understand all that I ask, and listen to their comments and problems they wish to address.
