I offer the Suzuki method of teaching for all beginners and pair it with Essentials for Strings to engage music theory into the lessons. As the students progress there are more books to choose and duets to practice Chamber Music and more advanced techniques. For Beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method, and essentials for Strings. For beginning cello students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki method elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
