I am committed to making an impact as a teaching artist, introducing people of all ages to the joy of playing the cello and finding a community in music. My Bachelor of Music Degree is from the Florida State University College of Music where I studied with Greg Sauer, served as Principal Cellist in the University Philharmonia, and performed with a number of other ensembles including for Doctoral Chamber Recitals (an invite-only opportunity usually reserved from graduate students), Polymorphia (dedicated to premiering and promoting works by living composers), Baroque Ensemble (where I performed on a traditional replica Baroque cello), and “Aziza” Middle Eastern Ensemble. I've been singing since I was a child. I've played in school orchestra and church praise band even before college. I've performed for the president and sung in Moscow's Red Square. My studies have focused on liturgical church music though my pentecostal church background has helped combine spirit with tradition. By my sophomore year I had begun taking on private cello students. Fast forward to six months post-graduation, I had myself a full schedule between my private studio and a local music school I was contracted by. At my peak I had near 60 recurring students young and old across six instruments, 40 of which regularly performed at out semi-annual recitals!
