I follow my teacher's teaching because I have seen that it has worked on so many other people that have become amazing performers, and since my teacher is from the old German school, he is very strict in how technique should be learned. For beginners I start with Friedrich Dotzauer "113 Cello Etudes" to form foundation and technique, After a good foundation, the intermediate level is with Friedrich Dotzauer Exercises for the cello Book 1 and book 2, at this point some repertoire will be introduced to the student as well as the style of repertoire piece that will be studied and practiced, the student will pick repertoire so it can be fun for both parties. For early students, I typically start with the Suzuki books, as I like the organized technical and musical progression of each piece. More advanced students can expect a healthy dose of scales, Popper etudes, concertos, and Bach. Read More

I love bringing the same connection and love for music to my students that my family and teachers brought to me. Read More
