I design my lessons differently for every student. I understand that every human being is different and it is my duty as an educator to adjust my methods to the student's needs. I fell in love with my cello at age 12, when my mother brought it home as a birthday present. I competed in the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) where I received 3 A+ grades, for my performance of Haydn's cello concerto #1 in D minor, Bach Suite #3, Boccherini cello concerto and Vivaldi sonata #3. My first teacher, Alexander Goldfield once said, "Music is just scales and chords". If nothing else, I practice my Cossman exercises at least 1-2 hours per days for agility and intonation. Read More

My approach to teaching varies with the age level of each student. With younger students, imitation is often one of the best methods of learning and I prefer the Suzuki method for students up to age 8, especially with strings. For older children and adults, learning music notation and basic music theory for a full understanding of musical language are more important to get them to the level where they can learn any music that they want to play for fun. I have 11 or 12 years of teaching experience. I began teaching music lessons in high school, coaching chamber music ensembles for the middle-school music program. In college, I began teaching privately, first only children, then college students, then adults, until I had a very diverse studio.
