While I have a general curriculum, I am very flexible and try to adjust to my every student individually. Generally I like to employ books by Suzuki, as I find them very methodical, as well as easily accessible. I supplement the Suzuki books by Alwin Schroeder's 170 foundation studies, and lots of scales and technical exercises. I encourage active listening and work with a student to build confidence performing. I approach teaching very seriously with a lot of planning, but during the lesson, I have lots of fun getting to talk to my students! After high school, I became a music teacher at a bilingual school, working there and gaining experience in teaching while working with students ranging from the ages of 7 to 11 during 2 years, as well as functioning as the principal cellist of the Honduran Philharmonic.
