ive began teaching three years ago to my little cousins. after a couple weeks their abilities improved significantly. my aunt,impressed at their progress, refered me to some of her friends, and i began teaching adults as well as children. when a student is learning, i like to focus on exactly what is interesting to them, and show themthe concept to the point of understanding. if the student isnt having fun,then nobody wins! i really enjoy seeing mystudents compose their own original songs and eventually gain the confidence to perform. im always looking for any students who wish to better their understanding of music regardless of ability or age. I am a lifelong student of music. I began playing the guitar at a very young age, 7 years old, and was playing in public by the time I was 12 years old. Around this time I took a correspondence course in Arranging from the then Berklee School of Music, which did eventually also become my alma mater and I even began teaching for my teacher. I have played and performed throughout the new England states as a solo performer and in bands/ensembles, and have had some of my orchestral works performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra, truly an achievement for a kid who grew up as a rocker. I attended Berklee College of Music and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Professional Music in 1995. My main areas of focus while in college was jazz composition and performance.
