I am a recording musician who has played guitar for more than four decades. I have played in bands and now do mult-track recording. I currently have a song on Amazon, Soundcloud, and other places. I come from a family of musicians- I was encouraged to play piano as soon as I could sit up. I had formal private piano lessons for 12 years, played in the school orchestra and picked up guitar and drums in local bands. I continued to study music at Mizzou while I performed in restaurants, bars, wineries, and private parties. My teaching experience began shortly after I left college. I had one really excellent student who eventually graduated high school and went off to another college, and after that I left Kentucky. Since then, my teaching has mostly been limited to interested family and friends because I wanted to make sure I had a solid method together to facilitate musical growth. Working with scales, breathing, and intonation are among those fundamentals that help build up ones playing at the strongest points. From there, it is important to incorporate those into etudes and solos, learning how they function within written pieces. From 2006 to 2010 I sat first chair in the symphonic orchestra at Lees Summit West High School (Lees Summit, MO) and was even a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra all four years. From 2011 to 2014 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Production at the McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN.
