I use the song-by-song method: I have my students choose a number of songs they want to learn, and I teach them how to play those songs one by one, learning the basics of guitar along the way. For intermediate students, I would use the same method, but encourage them to choose more complex songs. Music Club was where it all started; from there, I branched out into private lessons, starting with my peers, and later working with references and other community members who heard I was making rounds. Through college I have given lessons to those around me fascinated by the bass and how to play as more than just a typical bass. All of these students were either teenagers, or in there early 20's, but I am open to teaching children as well. Most of my lessons revolved around slap, harmonic, and chordal techniques, like those showcased by Les Claypool Victor Wooten, and Jaco Pastorius.
