I began teaching when I was 17 after I made friends who were younger through the mariachi summer camp. I taught music theory and the overall style of how to learn and build chords based on key signatures. Being able to show these kids so much about their instrument made me want to some day become a good tutor for someone else in need of lessons that are straight forward and to the point without having to worry about a tutor that's hard to work with. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student's desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I've been teaching music for more than 12 years now. I can honestly say that I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. Not everyone can say that they truly enjoy their job so I feel blessed. I have taught hundreds of students ranging from ages 4 to 80! I have taught individuals, groups or online lessons. During the pandemic I was lucky to I keep working because of zoom lessons. I don't know what I would have done without zoom lessons. Read More

As I have previously stated, I tailor my lessons to each individual student in order to maximize their learning potential. Yes, I do usually assign one piece that will be good for them to learn even if it is not their favorite song to play, but the rest of the time I make sure that it is music they are going to enjoy. If a student loves Disney songs, then you can bet that's going to be an assignment. Read More

I focus on indvidualizing the lesson to the student. Every student has different goals, dreams, and personalities. I typically use the Faber Books for piano, Hal Leonard for guitar and ukulele, and I work in sight-reading with my voice students. I also work in music theory when appropriate, and enjoy explaining the "why" behind how music works. I'm also a singer-songwriter and have tunes on Spotify Apple Music. I write and produce my own songs and have had my compositions performed frequently. Read More

I use a very concise methodology in my instruction. I evaluate the students level, from there I make a step by step guide (of selected piece and etudes) to show the student their progress into the next level. I also encorperate ideas in theory, history, and ear training. Also if the student has yet to learn how to read musical notation. that will be taught along side with regular instrumental lessons. For beginners or people that are brand new to the guitar we typically break the lesson into halves. The first half is typically practicing pentatonic scales and basic finger exercises and maybe some rhythm drills before moving onto simplified versions of famous classic songs. The expectation is to play the scale at a certain tempo with a metronome, and be able to play along with the recording of whatever song we happen to be focusing on. Read More
