I have been playing the keyboard since the age of 5. I have been teaching since I was 21 years old and completed my first college degree. Music is my life. I have been the Organist and Choir director of two churches and I have been fortunate to sing and work under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, Eugene Ormandy, and many other great conductors. I completed my Bachelors of Music at Mannes College in 2012. I have also completed my Masters of Music at Rice University under the instruction of acclaimed voice teacher, Dr. Stephen King. In April of 2014, I performed the role of Lady Billows in their 2014 production of Brittens Albert Herring. Over the summer, I also performed extensively with Aspen Music Festival, singing Pamina, Despina and La Contessa in Opera Scenes Master Classes and understudying Sybil Vane in The Picture of Dorian Grey. I love seeing my students getting involved with music and having a passion for it. I try to encourage my students so that helps them to progress and feel like they have accomplished there art. I try to set goals each lessons. I give homework. I like to see my students practice and do homework I give out. On the next lesson we will review what they practiced. I believe music is much more than something that is taught; it is its own language. Though methods of composition vary, it evokes strong emotions in listeners across the world. Music has so much more to teach us than just how to read and play the notes. It can actually help build individuality. I will teach students more than just how to play instruments and sing.
