Also-when I teach the beginning student-it is great to see how that student develops his/her playing over the days/weeks/months. Further into my education I took internships in music therapy working with many different populations. I gave therapeutic music lessons to patients in hospitals like Massachusetts General Hospital, Worcester Recovery Center and McLean Hospital. There I ventured into teaching guitar and voice. I use a mix of books (note reading), ear training, and musical games (depending on age) in lessons. For beginning adults I try to determine exactly what they are wanting to achieve by starting an instrument at this point in life.
