Eventually, a students love for the violin will naturally lend itself to a desire for further violin instruction. Students who desire violin instruction progress the fastest. I give students the amount of instruction and new information that I believe they can handle but that will also help them progress as rapidly as possible without overloading them. Focus on technique: Over the past few years, I have been learning that there are key violin playing technique principles that many teachers and violinists do not understand. Read More
Instruments: Violin
I started playing the violin at the age of 8 and now I have been playing it for 30 years. I started working with children when I turned 19 and to this day I have never stopped. I studied and worked at the same time, as well as playing in an orchestra, and I developed a strong work ethic. With the students, I organized concerts and trips to competitions, as well as going to additional professional training and violin masterclasses. Read More

I believe everyones musical journey is different and that these nuances should be embraced. Every student follows the reoccurring desire to make music for as long as it takes them before they actually begin to find their own musical voice. Often times though this begins an endless quest that builds upon itself as new abilities are gained and new possibilities explored. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Viola, Trombone, Electric Violin, Double Bass, Music, Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar
My teaching philosophy revolved around the idea that music should be fun and engaging. While many teachers start their students off by learning how to read music, I like to begin with actually playing and familiarizing yourself with the instrument and later translating that information to written music notation. In your first lesson, we will play the instrument and learn a simple tune based on your skill level. I like to take into account the students music preference and learn what specifically they want to get out of private lessons. Read More

For beginning students, I start with the Essential Elements book. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire. Particularly for college-bound musicians who wish to major in music, the majority of their lessons will be based on preparing solo literature for All District or college auditions. Read More
