As a cellist, it is standard to visit Popper etudes and J.S. Bach's six suites. Mike Block's Contemporary Cello Etudes book has several fun techniques, such as slapping, chopping, and singing while playing, which would be great for intermediate players. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and began my musical studies on viola at the age 4. I graduated from Baylor University in 2013. I began teaching in 2009, with private students. The following year, I began working with non-profit organization, for two years, that brought music to at-risk and underprivileged children. After working with them, I began working with the Baton Rouge Arts Council, bringing music and music appreciation to elementary school class rooms for children and schools that did not have a music teacher, on staff.
