I love teaching! I am creative, enthusiastic, loving and fun. I have a bachelor of music from Northwestern State University, where I graduated summa cum laude in 2004. I went on to start my masters degree work at the University of Texas in Austin. From there I built a highly successful studio of 60 students, many of whom went to state competitions, won awards and even went on to obtain their degrees in music. Read More

Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals, I start to introduce solo repertoire appropriate to their level, as well as focusing on learning proper technique. For students of ages 13-18, it is essential to understand the student's experience level and where they are musically and otherwise. I will adjust my style to the needs of the student, if their interest is purely personal enjoyment up to college audition requirements. I encourage students of this age range to perform at recitals, as it builds their confidence level as performers and presenters. Performances also help individuals gain confidence to not only perform in public, but also present: lectures, speeches, and other public speaking opportunities. Read More
