Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I began coaching younger string students before I was even out of high school and taught my first private violin lessons while I was finishing my degree. After college, I played the violin with a Beatles Tribute Band called Number 9 and I also regularly played on violin and viola in the pit orchestra for the Augusta Players, Augusta's premier professional theatre company. I taught for seven years in the Richmond County Public Schools, two as a choral director, and five of which were with the Orchestra Program. Read More

I am a passionate musician and teacher with 11 years experience teaching orchestra grades 4-12 in PA public schools. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with a B.S. in Music Education and an emphasis on violin, and from Boston University Online in 2012 with a Master's in Music Education. I have performed in various ensembles all over Central PA, on both violin and viola and I am a violinist in the West Shore Symphony Orchestra. Read More

I focus on posture initially, then introduce concepts of music theory when appropriate. Things like reading music, time signatures, key signatures, and what various markings mean are important for any musician, regardless of what their ultimate goals are. I do expect my students to practice regularly if they want to progress. I ask my students to keep practice journals, so I always begin with reading their journals and asking questions or making observations about it. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
