Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I have been consistently giving private lessons since 2009 while I was in college, The Peabody Conservatory. I have completed my student teaching as a string specialist at Elkridge Landing Middle School and Elkridge Elementary School in Maryland. It has been a wonderful experience, allowing me to become skilled teaching music in public school setting. I am a classically trained musician with both a Bachelor and Master's degree from Indiana University School of Music. In addition, I was awarded a Ph.D. in Music Composition/Theory and Instrumental Music Education from the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati. (1990) I have been a professional musician and educator for more than 25 years. I have recorded and produced a cd which was released in 2011. I'll find the best methods for each student, and I believe that methods can be varied. For example, Suzuki Methods only can bring a beginner to medium level. After few year training with Suzuki, it is hard to make progressions on technique. However, Suzuki Methods can be a good fit for children under 10, because of the fun of study. Read More

For Beginning piano students, I often use the Piano Adventures series. For younger beginners, I tend to enjoy The Music Tree books. For intermediate students, I like the Celebration Series. For beginning violin and viola students, I use All for Strings first, then followed by I Can Read Music paired with Suzuki Book 1. As students advance in their piano or string studies, we eventually step away from method books and study staple, classic repertoire by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. for each lesson, I write custom lessons plans based on the student's needs and interests.
