My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in various studios since then. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. My aspirations as a violin instructor are to enable students to identify, understand, and assess challenges they contend to search for possible solutions. I am a proponent of self-directed learning, and intentionally create situations in class that allow the students to learn through the unconventional approach. I also encourage students to come up with their own exercises and possible solutions for any challenge they encounter. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys helping students unravel the mysteries of music. I graduated with honors from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. While studying at IUP, I was principal bassoon of our ensembles and played in many chamber groups as well. In 2015, I won the Graduate Assistantship at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I have been teaching privately for 11 years, and in public school for the last 7. I have played the violin for 20 years, and viola/cello/bass for the past 10. I have also played piano and sung for the last 12 years, and have performed in both solo and group settings on every instrument mentioned.
