I have been teaching private violin lessons since I was high school student. I have also taught private and group/string orchestra with the Atlanta Music Project and Chapel Hill Middle School in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, I worked with Lessons in Your Home in Miami, Florida. As a college student, I performed in various gigs in the Atlanta area. I work in partner with students who are enrolled in public school lessons, and incorporate their school's method book (i.e. Essential Elements 2000 or similar), as well as rudimentary exercises and pieces appropriate for their level. I am a strong advocate of Kreutzer etudes, Hrimaly scales, and Suzuki pieces as learning tools. I guide my instruction based around the students' ability, needs, and goals. I believe that learning music is a constant conversation between student, teacher, and any others involved (parents, guardians, siblings, school music teacher), and like to keep communication open with weekly notes and homework assignments recorded in a music notebook. After finishing an apprenticeship in carpentry and becoming a certified carpentry journeyman, I worked as a trade showroom carpenter in Berlin and Vienna. For my mandatory conscription in Austria, I served as an ambulance paramedic. I obtained a bachelor's and a master's in music and dance performance and education at leading universities in Salzburg and Barcelona. My job is of upmost importance; to teach, but also to learn. As an educator I am responsible for encouraging growth and delivering material as efficiently as possible while maintaining a realistic sense of what is achievable. However, it is also my job to learn from the student and be able to adapt and grow to new situations.
