Since then I have served as a substitute in Florida, and then returned to New Mexico where I taught in Farmington, Los Alamos an now in Albuquerque. Music lessons can incorporate a variety of approaches depending on student preference and abilities. Some students love to read notation. I encourage these students to develop auditory skills through imitation games and improvisation. Other students play by ear and prefer to memorize all pieces.
