Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For students beginning within the context of a school orchestra program, I prefer to begin within the pedagogical book of choice of the school program (e.g. Hal Leonard's Essential Elements) before branching out into other methods and repertoire such as the Suzuki school. For intermediate and adult students, I try to adapt repertoire and activity selection to his or her own interests, and find a balance between addressing important technique learning tasks and music that keeps the student excited and engaged. I teach both the Classical and Suzuki methods. I have students of all ages so it varies which student is learning which method. The best for children is the Suzuki method that is widely used in the USA. Classical methods can be used when I teach young adults and adults. It is pretty flexible though and I sometimes teach younger children the classical method. I like challenges and I often have children and older students that express different tempers. Read More

I started playing the violin in 7th grade. It was a struggle for me to learn the instrument and how to read music, until I started taking lessons. I was taught using the Suzuki method and have used it to teach all of my students ever since. I motivate my students by being interactive.With children who are new to music, I use my personal method, which is characterized by providing knowledge while playing interactive games, which helps the children grasp music-related issues. With the older students, I try to inspire them by playing duets, accompanying them, and placing emphasis on a variety of repertoire. I begin with developing sheet music literacy in my students right off the bat if they have no experience in reading music. I believe music literacy is one of the most important aspects of learning an instrument. I've always said, "not being able to read sheet music is like trying to be a writer who can't read, it makes no sense". I also begin with teaching proper form.
