I like to use several methods in my lessons. I use a lesson book, Essential Elements for Strings for violin and viola students and Alfred books for piano students. In addition to these, I supplement with song books, concertos, etudes, scales, and songs the students want to learn to play. Part of my lesson times include teaching how to practice. However, I will always find a way to make the most out of an opportunity with a student. I'd rather spend time helping them learn how to express themselves with freedom and skill. When learning a specific task or skill, I use modeling in my teaching style.
