Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Voice, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet
Teaching Methods: Mostly books that are utilized by public schools with a mixture of advance books appropriate for the student. Mostly dependent upon what the student needs to advance.
Teaching Styles: I enjoy watching students grow and develop their talent. My passion is for students to learn at their own pace with quality as the number one outcome. I believe in great tone quality with techniques that will keep the student advancing. I enjoy listening to students tell me their experiences with Music. I encourage students by pointing out the good things they do and helping them develop the things they still need to do. I am punctual and begin and end on time. I believe every student has ability it just need to be developed.
Teaching Methods: I prefer to follow the same method that my professors would use to teach me. This would resolve around working on tone quality, practicing scales, technique studies (such as Clark's or Arban's), and plenty of sight-reading material. That doesn't mean that I cannot work on the basics with a new student. If they are having trouble buzzing on the mouthpiece or ensuring that they are staying in tune, I know plenty of techniques that allow the student to develop their embochure and keep a continuous air-flow. If the student is more interested in Jazz or other styles of music, I am more then willing to work on any blues scales and teach them how to improvize if that is a area of music they wish to learn.
Teaching Styles: Being able to memorize a technical study is always a great accomplishment for any student. During my lessons I prefer to end the lesson with a set goal for next time, such as getting all Major/Minor scales perfected or getting a certain segment of a composition completed. Also if there is any specific area of study the student would like to work on during lessons, I am more than happy to work on a different aspect of trumpet playing in order to meet their needs.
