I like to first access the student and their proficiency level. Once I discover your weak points I focus on them and drill them to perfection. Once we have those down. In addition with my education field and experiences, I have also held a volunteer position between two local churches as a singer for the church choir through a Minister of Music program.   I have previously been employed at the John H. Wood Charter District as an Instructor Assistant with a Music Focus in San Antonio, TX at the Anne Frank Inspire Academy. Now fast-forward to March 2021, I was hired by Presidio ISD to teach middle school band. From then until May 2022, I got to teach middle school band along with choir and mariachi. I also occasionally helped at the local high school. What I have learned while teaching middle school, especially with beginners, is that playing along can be helpful initially. Once the student gets the hang of what they are playing, I phase out of playing my instrument. Read More
