My teaching experience began in 2008, when I began teaching private lessons on various instruments, on voice, and on conducting. I later went on to teach band and choir at Cedar Bluff High School in 2011. After this, I volunteered as the band director at Valley Head High School in 2014. I have enjoyed every moment of teaching music and have taken so much from the experiences that I've had. Whatever instrument private studies we are working on, a balanced approach of performance, literature, theory, and technique are studied. Once the groundwork is established, we even work through composition on their chosen instrument. Students work at their own pace. I have some students who move quite swiftly through their levels, and that is great. Others may need more time, and that is fine. I do find that students who utilize regular and purposeful home practice will tend to get through levels a fair amount quicker. Read More

I started playing trumpet in middle school band and enjoyed playing so much I quickly started a group with my brother and friends. Since then I have played more than 2000 shows at venues ranging from the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater to the intimate El Chapultepec. I have taught lessons, throughout college and after, with interests ranging from classical to jazz, rock and pop. Engaging oneself musically every day is a motto of mine, keeping the motions and techniques sharp, as well as the elements of time and immersion that exponentially promote growth and creativity. If there is anything worth learning it is definitely anything that sounds good to you!
