Throughout my musical career I have used many method books to improve my playing anywhere from beginning band books on up to the Arbans trumped method and have gained knowledge from each and everyone of them. Each of the many books I have used have been valuable in making me the player that I was. The information that I have gained through studying this material has helped me become the teacher that I am today, and my goal when teaching any student is to pass on what has been given to me throughout my lifetime. I have been teaching in various circumstances since 2010. I began with teaching middle school jazz sectionals, moved to high school marching band groups, and now teach masterclasses as well as private lessons. I have had the opportunity of teaching elementary aged students with Baton Rouge, LA's Kids' Orchestra program, and have taught college aged students through teaching assistantships and private lessons. My students have gone on to study their instruments in college, become teachers, and have grown to be more well rounded individuals. Read More
