My experience as a teacher started when I was in high school, giving private lessons to local middle school and elementary school students. Ive continued giving private lessons as well as masterclasses, sectional work, and marching band coaching throughout college. Teaching is as much of a calling for me as is playing the trumpet. With each student or students I first have to assess to see what level they are playing so that I can start them out at a level that would benefit them. I will be teaching online because of the fact that I am in a wheelchair and not able to get into the homes of the students that I teach. I have done this before and have been successful at it. I was then invited to move back to my college town of Brookings, South Dakota to be their middle school band director. I moved to Sioux Falls and taught in the Catholic School System for a number of years.
