Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Blake has performed as part of the Grammy Jazz Band, Jazz Band of America, Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Iowa All-state Jazz Band, Iowa All-state Band, Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, The Symphony of Northern Arkansas and the Brubeck Jazz Colony. Blake recently graduated with his masters in trombone performance from the University of Arkansas where he served as a teaching assistant to the trombone studio. For beginning students in piano, we will work from the Faber Series of books, working on getting comfortable with finding notes, and playing in proper rhythm against a steady beat. For more advanced piano students, we will work from whatever materials the student already has, and work to build their skills in a manner tailored to their individual needs. For beginning violin lessons, we will focus on understanding the fundamentals of controlling the violin and producing the best possible tone on the instrument while teaching students the fundamentals of rhythm and music reading.
