Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Drums, Bass Guitar, Euphonium, Tuba, Mallet Percussion
My teaching experience mainly involves the classroom but I do have private teaching experience. I want students to be prepared and excited about learning to play an instrument. If the instrument doesn't give you joy then lets find the right instrument for you. Happy students get the most enjoyment out of private lessons.
Instruments: Piano, Voice, Trombone
I have been playing piano since the age of 5 (for more than 35 years) and started teaching beginners at the age of 16. Am currently a professional accompanist for church and schools in the local area and have a few piano students in my home and outside of the home. Am well experienced with all types of music and can sight-read anything placed before me. I will teach you how to read music and how to play the music.
Instruments: Guitar, Voice, Cello, Trombone, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Double Bass, Euphonium, Tuba, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar
Teaching Methods: My philosophy is to teach the styles and songs most pleasing to the student. It is easier to practice and become a better musician if one enjoys the things they are learning. I try to foster students creativity by offering exercises and songs from multiple genres of music and by creating opportunities for students to express their creativity whether that be improvisation, composition or music theory.
For strings students, I usually start with Essential Elements and incorporate folk tunes into lesson time.
For low brass students, I primarily use the Standard of Excellence series, Brass Gym and Breathing Gym.
For guitar, I use the Hal Leonard book, but focus more on learning songs that fit the goals of the students.
Teaching Styles: My teaching can seem very laid back because I feel that each student is unique and will require their own style of instruction to make progress. Not everyone will be successful with the same method, so I tend to work in general frameworks and adapt throughout the lesson to best suit the student. To me, it is important to allow the students to have some choice in what is practiced in each lesson, so I like to have students work on something they like as well as the exercises assigned by me. It is more important to me that a student gains a love of music than them becoming All-State Musicians.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
