My teaching experience began in 2008, when I began teaching private lessons on various instruments, on voice, and on conducting. I later went on to teach band and choir at Cedar Bluff High School in 2011. After this, I volunteered as the band director at Valley Head High School in 2014. I have enjoyed every moment of teaching music and have taken so much from the experiences that I've had. I'm a very passionate and motivated educator who loves sharing that passion and motivation with my students. I'm currently attending Metropolitan State University of Denver getting my bachelor's in trumpet performance. I've been playing the trumpet since I was 11, but really found that it was my calling in my junior year of high school where I decided to pursue a degree in something that I love! Since then, I have won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in 2018, played with the Parker Symphony as the assistant principal trumpet, have played with the Colorado Brass, the Rocky Mountain Jazz Orchestra, and the Mariachi Los Caracaminos de MSU, as well as many other chamber ensembles both professionally and at my university. I teach my students the importance of musicality and expression alongside the technical aspects of playing their instrument.
