For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. I am an ever-changing through-composed song. I use music to home school my daughter and often I use my talent to teach my students through example. I make up vocalizes to warm up to and sing rhythmic patterns for my students to build off of. At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. Beforehand I definitely will need to asses their knowledge so I can do so accordingly. I however will now focus on solely fundamentals and will try to include in songs that the student would like to learn as long as it is in the bounds of reality, the lessons I provide are only part of the equation and the real work is what is put in after the lesson.
